Unleashing Steve Smith: Play for this MLC Team and Dominate as Brand Ambassador

MLC 2023: Steve Smith has the opportunity to join the Washington Freedom team in Major League Cricket (MLC) as a player and also serve as their brand ambassador.

Steve Smith, who currently represents the New South Wales (NSW) state team in Australia, has formed a partnership with the Washington Freedom team in MLC. There are plans for him to play for Washington Freedom after the 2024 T20 World Cup, and he has agreed to be their brand ambassador. The MLC team is headed by Michael Klinger as the Head of Cricket and Greg Sheppard as the head coach.

Steve Smith has expressed his interest in playing in MLC

He recently turned 34 and spends a lot of his time in New York City. In 2017, he proposed to his wife Dani there. Smith mentioned to the Sydney Morning Herald that he is considering playing in the USA and possibly ending his career there. As of now, Australia does not have any scheduled matches during the MLC’s July window next year. They have a T20I series against Afghanistan in late August and their first planned tour after the T20 World Cup is scheduled in the United States in June.

The first MLC match will take place on Friday. Klinger, speaking to ESPN Cricinfo, mentioned that Steve Smith has a strong connection with New South Wales and the Sydney Sixers team. Smith had a remarkable performance in the last Big Bash League, and it’s wonderful to have him as an ambassador for our team. Several talented players from New South Wales, such as Henriques, Ben Dwarshuis, Josh Philippe, and Tanveer Sangha, will also be playing for the Washington Freedom team in the inaugural season of MLC. The MLC season will run from July 13 to 30, and the Freedom’s first game will be on Friday night in Dallas against the Seattle Orcas.
