More than 11,000 youths were handed over appointment letters in private companies at the employment fair today organised in Jharkhand’s Hazaribagh district. Jharkhand Labour Minister Satyanand Bhokta, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Alamgir Alam, and local MLAs distributed the appointment letters to the newly appointed in the event organised by the Vinoba Bhave University, Hazaribagh. A total of 11, 850 youth received their appointment letters in the employment fair today. While the letters were initially slated to be distributed by the Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren, he eventually couldn’t make it to the event owing to some reasons, Hazaribag Deputy Commissioner Nancy Sahay said.
Notably, Hemant Soren arrived back in Ranchi at 04:00 PM, Monday, after attending the dinner hosted by president Droupadi Murmu for the G20 Summit on Saturday, a senior official from the Chief Minister’s Secretariat was reported as saying. Speaking at the ‘Rojgar Mela,’ state Labour Minister Satyanand Bhokta stated that over 40,000 youths have received employment letters under the present government.
“The government is making efforts to provide maximum employment to local youths. The policy for providing 75 per cent reservation to local youths in private jobs is being strictly implemented,” he was reported as saying by news agency PTI. A senior official in the State Labour Department further said that earlier last month in August, another 10,200 youths were distributed in West Singhbhum district’s Chaibasa.
Notably, to foster employment among youths, several state governments have been organising ‘Rojgar Melas’ in the past few months. In the latest similar move, Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar on September 10 announced that the state government will organise 200 job fairs in the state.
Addressing the ‘CM Ki Vishesh Charcha’ programme, Khattar further stated that 1,450 job fairs have been organised in the state since January 2019 till date. “This year also 200 job fairs will be organised,” the Haryana Chief Minister was reported as saying by news agency PTI according to an official statement.
