G20 India App Launched For iOS And Android Ahead Of Summit In Delhi


A mobile app called “G20 India” has been made for the G20 Summit, and it is now available for download on both Android and iOS devices. The Android app had crossed more than 10,000 downloads at the time of filing this story. Enter the app and one would see the calendar, G20 India 2023, media and resources and about G20, among other features. The G20 India app was released by the Ministry of External Affairs in November last year.

The G20 Leaders’ Summit will be held in New Delhi on September 9-10. In the wake of the summit, Delhi Police has already announced that restrictions would be imposed in the NDMC area, which houses the main summit venue. The NDMC area or Lutyens’ Delhi will be a controlled zone in which authorised vehicles and visitors will be allowed.

According to Delhi Police Special CP (Traffic) Surender Singh Yadav, restrictions would be put up from September 7 at midnight and would continue till September 10 night. Essential services, metro services would continue to function, though. The summit will be the highest-profile international gathering ever to be hosted in the country and will see global leaders like the US President Joe Biden, Chinese Premier Xi Jinping, Russia’s Vladimir Putin converging in Delhi.

All government and private offices in the national capital along with educational institutions, including schools and colleges will be shut. The Supreme Court, commercial banks and financial institutions along with shops and business establishments under New Delhi Police District Markets in Connaught Place, Malcha Marg, Khan Market, Shankar Market, Janpath, Mohan Singh Place, Palika Bazar and retail liquor stores under New Delhi Police District will also be closed during the summit.
