The National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) has asked schools to not punish students for wearing rakhi, tilak, or mehendi during the festival of Raksha Bandhan. The move from the NCPCR comes as the nation braces for the festival of Raksha Bandhan that commemorates the love between siblings. Although the festival of Raksha Bandhan will be pronouncedly celebrated tomorrow, August 31, 2023, the festivities have already begun across the country. 

Earlier in the morning today, August 30, Prime Minister Narendra Modi celebrated the festival of Raksha Bandhan with school girls who visited the PM’s residence and tied rakhi on his wrist. The Prime Minister also greeted the nation on the festival. Happy Rakshabandhan to all my family members.
