How to Make Easy Sales

Ok, I know that the title sounds like a sales pitch, and I am trying to sell you something … an idea.  Many online marketers are missing out on easy sales.  I am going to help you not make the same mistake these marketers do.

Regardless of whether what you sell online or offline, the easiest sale that you will ever make is a repeat sale.  The second easiest sale you will make is a referral.  You will make more money per hour on these two types of sales than in any other area.

I have a good friend who went into car sales several years ago.  He told me that the top salesman at his dealership never took a walk in sale.  All of his sales were people who came into the lot and asked for him by name.  When my friend asked this super salesman about his success he was told that all of his sales came from past customers and referrals from his past customers.

The success of this salesman didn’t just fall into his lap.  What he did was to develop a list of customers and he would follow up with this list.  He sent out holiday cards, birthday cards, anniversary cards, etc.  He also held special viewings by invitation only for his customers and their guests.  He obviously did a great job building his reputation and keeping his name in front of his clients.

To create your own online repeat customers you need to develop your own list.  Now, I recommend you have past and potential customers on this list.  You can get referrals onto your list by simply asking for them.  Depending on your niche you may find it more effective to offer a reward for referrals. 

And you need to treat this list with respect.  You don’t just want to contact them periodically and ask for a sale.  What you want to do is create a relationship with your readers.  Provide them with good information and reasons to keep receiving your newsletters.  You can make a good living by building and maintaining a responsive list.




Surveying for Profit

A survey can be a great tool for your Internet marketing business that I feel is often neglected by most marketers.  There are several reasons for doing a survey, all of which can mean more profit for you.

Survey results can be a great instrument for discovering what information your audience is looking for or needing.  Ask what problems and concerns people are running into.  You can then tailor your future newsletters or blogs to meet these needs. 

Another great use of a survey is to build your list.  Advertise your survey in forums, blogs, and other areas your potential clients are likely to visit.  Use your survey to bribe people to join your list by giving them a reward for completing the survey.  This should be something related to your niche so that you are collecting targeted clients.

Another great reason for doing surveys is to discover products or services that your readers can use.  Once you know what your audience desires you can seek out appropriate solutions.  You may even be able to create your own product addressing an area of concern.  Obviously, this can be a tremendous boost to your bottom line.

As an Internet marketer I am sure you can see the value of a survey.  And this leads me to an overlooked reason to do a survey.  You can use the results of your survey to create a report that you could then sell to other Internet marketers in your niche.  If you can see the value of a survey, they will also.

As you can see a survey is a great tool for any niche.  I highly recommend you consider adding surveys as  one of your Internet business building tools.
