First, the product has tremendous potential.  The first company that introduced juice nutrition made a lot of people a lot of money.  The product has great reviews from the few who have been given samples.  It’s economical and is in the very hot field of nutrition.

Big News in Freebie Force 


The infomercial has been a success, but not as big as hoped.  Over 5,000 people went to the website but less than 1,000 of those signed up to be members.  While these are good numbers, the company believes the conversion rate can be improved.  So they have made a great decision.

How to Beat the Rising Price of Gas

The subject of gas prices is a hot topic these days because gas has risen so much in such a short time.  The prices are hurting practically everyone and we will all have to learn how to deal with this reality.

The average person is going to have to change their spending habits.  Since gas is a necessity for many, other purchases will have to be cut. The entertainment budget may have to be cut.  Groceries may entail buying store brand foods instead of national brands. And bag lunches may be more common than going out for lunch.

Hope I haven’t depressed you too much!  I could go on and on about who’s at fault and what I think we should do about the situation, but that’s not what this article is about. 

I am going to talk to you about how you can beat the rising price of gas.  First, let’s figure out how the cost of gas is hitting your bottom line.  The average price of a gallon of gas in the US right now is around $4.  Let’s say that you drive around 1,000 miles a month and lets say that you get around 20 miles to the gallon.  You will have to make your own calculations.  This means you average buying 50 gallons of gas a month for a total average cost of $200 a month.

So, to beat the cost of gas you simply need to go to your boss and ask for a $200 a month raise.  Yeah, I know…that’s not going to happen!  That is, that’s not going to happen for those of you who have jobs.  But, it will work for those of us who are self employed!

As an entrepreneur you can beat the cost of gas by simply making more money.  Take this frustrating situation which you have no control over and use it as motivation for either starting your own business or increasing your business.

Here are some suggestions:

Sell some items on eBay.  The best way for beginners to learn how to make money with eBay is to simply sell things you have around your house.  You can expand from that if you want to pursue this money making avenue.

Get more traffic.  If you have a website that you make money from, spend an hour a day to increase your traffic.  Write an article, do a traffic exchange, write posts on blogs or forums, or advertise in a topic related ezine. 

Use ClickBank. Go to clickbank.com and research a new product to promote to your list or on your blog.

Think outside the box.  Can you think of a unique way to raise an extra $200 a month?  How about offering a unique monthly service for only $2 a month?  All you would need is 100 subscribers!

As entrepreneurs we may not be able to do anything about the cost of gas, but we do have unlimited possibilities to increase our income and overcome the negative effects of rising gas prices.

be Avoided or Embraced?

Should a Single Product MLM (Multi Level Marketing) company be Avoided or Embraced?

Multiple product MLM companies have been around for ever and have proven to be successful, but what about the single product companies?

This week I had 2 separate people mention that they weren’t interested in Nutritional IPOD because it will only have one item.  They both felt that having an array of products would give them a better opportunity of finding customers.

These conversations started me questioning whether getting involved in a one product company was a mistake. Maybe most people had the same concept and were avoiding Nutritional IPOD because of this idea.  I decided to do some research to see what I could find out.

The first thing that people might think is that an MLM company can’t be successful with only one product.  You might hold that opinion if you aren’t familiar with the history of some of the greatest success stories in recent MLM history. Noni and Sea Silver are both juice companies that had single products and both have broken sales records in the industry.

More importantly, these companies had many successful distributors who made thousands monthly and even a few who made huge money.  It is obvious that a single product company can do extremely well and shouldn’t be avoided simply because it only has one product.

Now let’s look at the second part of the question, should a single product MLM be embraced?  Or to ask it a different way, do these companies have any advantages?

Behavioral scientist Sheena Iyengar and several colleagues analyzed company-sponsored retirement programs for nearly 800,000 workers.  They analyzed if and how participation rates varied as the number of choices increased.  They found that as the number of choices increased the number of workers who participated in the programs decreased.

They also did a study in grocery stores.  They set up two different jam displays, one with 6 flavors and one with 24 flavors.  They found that at the 6 sample display sites they had a 30% sales rate while at the 24 sample display sites they averaged only a 3% sales rate.


What this demonstrates is that people are more likely to make a decision to buy if they don’t have a lot of choices.  Having too many choices can confuse potential customers and reduce sales.  This can also explain why single product companies can be very successful, simple choices can make for easier sales.

Representing a single product company also makes training simpler, goals simpler and sales simpler. 


Now I am not saying that one should avoid multi product companies.  There are many successful companies with many different products like Shaklee, Amway, and Melaluca.  But what I am saying is that a company shouldn’t be overlooked simply because it only has a single product to promote.
