How to Recruit
Network Marketers Series?

There are many ways to recruit people into network marketing companies.  And everyone has their own opinions of what works and what doesn’t.  When talking to very successful network marketers you may receive contradictory information.   In actuality, each of the techniques can work.  The problem is that not all of the techniques will work for everyone or every opportunity.

With this series I want to discuss several of the most popular techniques.  I will look at the pros and cons of each technique.  And more importantly I will give you some guidance as to which techniques have better potential for you.

The first technique we will look at is probably the one every networker is aware of and almost every networker dreads.  This technique is almost always the one promoted or shoved on the new networker and I believe is the single technique that can destroy your recruiting efforts.  I, of course, am talking about recruiting your warm market (friends, family, and co-workers).

My analysis:  This technique can be very effective.  In fact, this technique has the highest closing rate of all the techniques.  It stands to reason; you already have a relationship and (most likely) a level of trust.  And, this technique can be a fast way to grow your business.  Depending on the product/service the company offers, many of these people will at least become customers. 

However, in order for this technique to truly be successful the networker has to have a level of influence over his warm market.  For example, if the networker is a lawyer, doctor, or teacher they will probably have a high level of influence over a large group of people and would have a great chance of creating a large organization.  While other people may have a lot of contacts, they may not have any influence over most of them and will most likely fail at recruiting a large number of people from their warm market.

In my opinion, the most destructive aspect of this technique is promoting this as the one and only way to start a network marketing career.  Most people don’t want to do this.  (Nor do their friends want them to!)   And if they don’t see success fast they get very discouraged and turned off to network marketing. 

And another detrimental side effect from promoting this technique as the only way to succeed is the attitude that the sponsor has with members who don’t see immediate success.  They don’t offer other techniques; they treat the member as if they must be doing something wrong.   

Using your warm market is a good technique for most people, but you have to have realistic expectations.  For people who have influence over a lot of people this can be a very successful technique.  But, most people should look at this technique as a way to potentially build a customer base and maybe find a distributor or two.  Most importantly, you shouldn’t look at this technique as the only way to succeed in network marketing. 




Why People Fail in
Affiliate Marketing?

Affiliate marketing is one of the most effective means of generating an online income.  But why do many people still fail with affiliate marketing? There are many reasons for their failure.  Let’s take a look at some of these reasons and discuss how to avoid them in our business.

Lack of research is one major reason some affiliates fail. The successful affiliate marketer identifies his core customers and their needs.  They then seek out products and services that are high quality, backed by a reputable supplier, and meet the needs of his clients. Many potential marketers simply promote whatever they can find or anything that sounds good without even purchasing or using the items themselves.  This can prove to be fatal.

Not having a plan of action can be detrimental to an affiliate marketer. Many times struggling affiliates will stare at their computer screen not knowing what to do next.  On the other hand, successful marketers know what they need to do each day to be successful.  Whether it be posting on forums, writing an article, adjusting their Adsense campaign, etc. they simply do what needs to be done to make money.

Failing to keep good records is another failure of affiliates.  Without good records on what marketing techniques are working many affiliates simply make the same costly mistakes over and over.  With accurate records you can identify profitable avenues for your campaigns.

Another reason affiliate marketers fail is not collecting email addresses and building a list.  I realize that there are people making money in affiliate marketing without building a list, but in my opinion these people are leaving money on the table.  By building a list of past and potential customers you are creating a valuable resource for future income.  When managed correctly, a list can be worth as $1 or more per email per month to the owner.  Without a list, an affiliate marketer must find new customers for each sale.

Many affiliates fail because they don’t increase their knowledge. If you want long-term and highly satisfactory results, take time to learn about internet marketing, advertising, sales techniques, web design, programming, and anything else related to your business. The most successful marketers are continually learning new techniques and experimenting with new concepts.  Be willing to invest some of your profits in your education.

The biggest reason affiliates fail is because they give up.  If you want to be a successful affiliate marketer you must be willing to keep going even if your first attempts fail.  Learn from your mistakes and try again.  You truly only fail when you quit.
