Why Do I Really Need
a Goal and a Plan of Action?

Do you have a goal? What is it? When asked this question, most people make up a goal on the spot. Now let me ask you this. How are you going to achieve this goal? What steps are you going to take to get there?

Admiral Robert Peary was (arguably) the first man to reach the North Pole. When asked how did he do it, do you think he responded, “Well, I was just out walking around one day...”? I don't think so, he had a goal and a well thought out plan to get there.

If your attempts at online marketing have stalled it may be time for you to set a goal and create a plan of action. Set aside at least an hour or two and find a place where you can be alone with your thoughts.

Answer these questions:

1)    What do I want to achieve with my online business?
2)    Where do I want to be 5 years from now?
3)    Where do I want to be 1 year from now?
4)    What do I need to do to achieve these goals?

Make sure you write down your answers.

Now create a step by step plan of what you need to do to achieve these goals. Ask yourself:

1)    What do I need to learn?
2)    What tools do I need?
3)    What services do I need?
4)    Where do I need to be in 9 months, 6 months,
3 months?

Once you have these items clearly laid out, decide what you can do this week to get started. State this exactly, not I need to make X dollars, but I need to find a host, buy a domain name, and create a website. Or I need to learn how to do affiliate marketing. Or I need to get training in network marketing.

Now decide that you are going to accomplish that task this week and make sure you follow through.

At the end of the week you will evaluate how the week went. Consider where you stand in you plan of action, and decide what you need to do next week.

If you follow this simple outline each and every week, you will be successful.
