Network Marketers Series?

In this series I am discussing several of the most popular techniques for recruiting network marketers. I will look at the pros and cons of each technique. And more importantly I will give you some guidance as to which techniques may have better potential for you.

This issues technique for recruiting network marketers that I want to discuss is purchasing leads. Many new networkers will jump at the idea of getting leads of people looking for a network business. Let’s take a closer look at this technique and analyze its effectiveness.

There are many online companies that sell leads of people looking for opportunities. These leads are collected in several different ways. Some of the sites simply sell information that they have purchased in bulk. These are usually useless leads.

The majority of the others use some sort of website that collects information from people who say they are interested in receiving information. Some of these leads have received compensation to enter their information.

Some companies offer phone verified leads. A phone verified lead is one that has been called by the company to verify that the phone number is real and that the prospect truly is interested in finding out information on a home based business.

Generally speaking the fewer hoops a potential lead has to jump through the less the lead will cost and the lower quality the lead will be. It’s not unusual to have over 25% of purchased email leads be bogus email addresses. And many of the people who actually did request information will consider your email to them as spam. This can lead to your email address being flagged as spam.

The verified leads that have been called are a much safer lead, but more costly. I have even found one company that will not only call a lead, but will transfer that call to you live.

In my opinion, it is a waste of your money and effort if you are going to purchase these more expensive leads and only send them information either by email or by snail mail.

The only way to use this technique effectively is to call these leads. And you must have a well rehearsed script and plan of action for making these calls. The network marketers who use this technique effectively make between 100 and 300 phone contacts each week. (A phone contact is a completed call to the actual prospect.)

This method can be very effective and has been used to build large down lines by people who have been willing to commit their time and effort in making it work. If you aren’t willing to make the effort than I suggest you hold on to your money and not waste it on purchasing leads.

Tips to Building
Repeat Web Traffic

The main job of an online marketer is to bring people to their website. But many marketers overlook the great advantage of building repeat business. I am going to briefly explain several ways you can create repeat visitors to your site.

First, you should update the pages on your website frequently. Stagnant sites are dropped by some search engines. You can keep fresh information on your site by utilizing new articles, adding RSS feeds, or by offering a blog or a forum on your site. You can even put a date counter on the page to show when it was last updated.

Second, you could create a review or recommendation area on your website. For affiliates and partners you could have links to their sites and products and ask them to do the same for you. You can also advertise and review books, videos, websites, and other items related to your niche. In other words, make your site a resource for your visitors.

Third, you can simply add a link to your primary page with a script ‘Book Mark or Add this site to your Favorites’. You may think that people who want to bookmark your site will do so automatically. This; however, is not the case. It has been shown that up to ten times as many people will bookmark your site if you give them a simple way of doing so.

Forth, you can allow customers to ‘opt in’ to get discounts, up to date information, and special offers. In my opinion, this is the best way to create repeat business. And I highly recommend that you not only send them offers, but that you provide quality information so that they look forward to seeing your emails.

Fifth, never spam a client, who has opted for newsletters, with unsolicited emails. Later if they decide they want to ‘opt out’ of the mailings, be sure you honor their request and take them off the mailing list. They may still come back if they like your products. But they will certainly not come back if you continue to flood their email box with mails they no longer wish to receive.
